Motions

Throws himself about, jerks head. Graceful circular motions of the limbs.

Every muscle of the body twitches, picks and reaches, otherwise lies pretty still.  Coarse angular jerks of the limbs.

Starts or jumps, falling or awaking from sleep.

 

Epilepsy

During fit: risus sardonics, and quick trusting head to the right.  Has “a friendly stupid look”.

Often during the  night.

Before the fit: vertigo, ringing in ears, sparks before eyes, gnawing hunger.  During the fit: face purple, eyes projecting, cold body, shrieks, grinding teeth, and enuresis.  After the fit: stupor and snoring.

During fit: spasms of larynx and clutching of throat, hot head and face, throbbing carotids.

 

Hydrophobia

Fear of water, of anything that may look like water: shining objects, fire, mirrors, sounds of fluids.  Causes convulsions.

Fear of running water.  Symptoms > from sounds of running water (e.g., involuntary urination).

Violent thirst but water aggravates: vertigo, confusion, hallucinations, stupor.

 

Vision

Objects look black.

Objects look red.

Objects look black.
